Pretty unusual title, The Butcher Boy is a new musical based on the book of the same name. Book, music and lyrics by Asher Muldoon. Muldoon is 19. He is incredibly kind and phenomenally talented. I had the privilege of doing a workshop of this piece back in July at Irish Rep., directed by Ciaran O'Reilly. The cast was insanely talented. At our one presentation, 300 people went absolutely bonkers for this new piece. When you see this title ANYWHERE, rush to see it. Read the book in the interim.
